20 Weeks!!!

Oh my word,
I cannot believe I am
20 weeks already!

Even though I am not
smooth sailing it
has gone by quickly!

I had my 20 week ultrasound
last friday! The baby
is still a boy :)
So happy about that!
Also, he looks
completely healthy!
So relieved!!!

This is about his size.
The ultrasound tech said
with all of his measurements
he is weighing in at about
13 oz. What a nice healthy size.

Isn't this the cutest onesie?
I grabbed it from Old Navy
last week and I'm thinking
I am going to bring him home
in this outfit :)
My husband likes this
superhero the best :)

I'm still on the meds to
slow my contractions down.
Which still give me the
shakes and makes me
somewhat drowsy,
but he spaced out the
time I take it and the
side effects are not as
severe as they were!

I go back in two weeks
for another ultrasound,
to check it all out!

I Hope I Win :)

Nothing like waiting til the last minute...
but over at I Heart Faces
They're having a contest for the most
fabulous prize ever!
One spot in the Amy Wenzel workshop!
I was absolutely floored when I read this
because not only would I never be
able to afford such a workshop,
but if I had to travel...
I would never be able to afford
the cost involved in travel,
food and hotel!
Lucky for me...
I practically live in her backyard!
So I can drive everyday and
sleep in my own bed :)

So to enter this contest I must
write a little blurp about
me and how I want to serve and
inspire people!

I am a girl who loves Jesus, her family
and all things creative!
I just purchased my first SLR
camera in July of 2009.
I love it!

But I should say that my real
love of photography came
when our first daughter was
born...
She came into this world on
July 1, 2003.
She was stillborn at 23 weeks
gestation... just over
a pound.
Her birth was very unexpected
and so when we entered the hospital
we only had the clothes on our backs.
Of course we were devastated but
as a mother I wanted to
capture her preciousness
in that moment, so I could
forever remember her!
A nurse informed us that there were
some photographers that
donated their time and
film to families that were
experiencing the loss of a child!
He came in... we barely new he was
there and then he was gone and
we had the film in our hands...
the lasting memory of our daughter!
I treasure those photos greatly.

Only 9 months later our second
daughter was born and she too
was born way too early...
24 weeks gestation weighing a
pound and a half.
While she had her ups and downs
she made it through a long 4 months
in the NICU... everyday we
would take pictures of our
precious miracle God graced us with!
She is 5 now soon to be 6.
Because of her traumatizing
experience during birth and shortly after
she has Cerebral Palsy.
I don't find that this is a disability
anymore (although I have hard days
and so does she)
she is a blessing and an inspiration.
Her hard work and dedication
allows me to see what is truly
important in this world :)

I tell you all of this because I too would
love to capture the moments of these
special children that God has placed into
the lives of their families.
We are sometimes graced with their
presence for only a moment, but they will
forever capture our hearts!

Thank you for this wonderful opportunity!!!

As St. Patrick Once said...

"Christ with me, Christ before me, Christ behind me,
Christ in me, Christ beneath me, Christ above me,
Christ on my right, Christ on my left,
Christ where I lie, Christ where I sit, Christ where I arise,
Christ in the heart of everyone who thinks of me,
Christ in the mouth of every one who speaks to me,
Christ in every eye that sees me,
Christ in every ear that hears me.
Salvation is of the Lord.
Salvation is of the Christ.
May your salvation, Lord, be ever with us."

So it Begins...

Today my contractions have been crazy!
Around 3-5 minutes apart and
then later this afternoon about 10
minutes apart!
Fun...

My doctor is not happy
about all of these contractions!
So he is starting me on some
icky drugs.
This drug makes my resting
heart rate around 100-120 beats/minute.
I get all jittery and I have to take
it around the clock every 4 hours.
So here's to setting my alarm!
Fun times...

So Sad...

So I have been planning
baby boy's nursery since I found
out a week and a half ago
he is a boy!
I'm leaning towards the
woodland/tree theme.
I think he can grow into it
and bonus it is something that
I adore!

So as I was browsing Etsy for
some fab finds I came across
Joel Dewberry's Aviary
woodgrain in chocolate.
I hearted it and thought
wouldn't that make an
adorable log pillow?!

So I went to show my sister
and to my dismay...
it is gone,
none to be found in that
color... ANYWHERE! :(

So if any of you lovely
ladies has a yard you wouldn't mind
parting with... I will pay you for it..
full price, plus shipping :)

Nursery Ideas...

I'm thinking a cute woodland theme for this
little guy :) Here are some amazing finds on Etsy.
I'm super excited and while I was away last weekend,
I did not scrapbook one second of my time,
I shopped and visited friends and family :)
I bought some really adorable boy clothes
for the little man :)
