Nothing like waiting til the last minute...
but over at I Heart Faces
They're having a contest for the most
fabulous prize ever!
One spot in the Amy Wenzel workshop!
I was absolutely floored when I read this
because not only would I never be
able to afford such a workshop,
but if I had to travel...
I would never be able to afford
the cost involved in travel,
food and hotel!
Lucky for me...
I practically live in her backyard!
So I can drive everyday and
sleep in my own bed :)
So to enter this contest I must
write a little blurp about
me and how I want to serve and
inspire people!
I am a girl who loves Jesus, her family
and all things creative!
I just purchased my first SLR
camera in July of 2009.
I love it!
But I should say that my real
love of photography came
when our first daughter was
born...
She came into this world on
July 1, 2003.
She was stillborn at 23 weeks
gestation... just over
a pound.
Her birth was very unexpected
and so when we entered the hospital
we only had the clothes on our backs.
Of course we were devastated but
as a mother I wanted to
capture her preciousness
in that moment, so I could
forever remember her!
A nurse informed us that there were
some photographers that
donated their time and
film to families that were
experiencing the loss of a child!
He came in... we barely new he was
there and then he was gone and
we had the film in our hands...
the lasting memory of our daughter!
I treasure those photos greatly.
Only 9 months later our second
daughter was born and she too
was born way too early...
24 weeks gestation weighing a
pound and a half.
While she had her ups and downs
she made it through a long 4 months
in the NICU... everyday we
would take pictures of our
precious miracle God graced us with!
She is 5 now soon to be 6.
Because of her traumatizing
experience during birth and shortly after
she has Cerebral Palsy.
I don't find that this is a disability
anymore (although I have hard days
and so does she)
she is a blessing and an inspiration.
Her hard work and dedication
allows me to see what is truly
important in this world :)
I tell you all of this because I too would
love to capture the moments of these
special children that God has placed into
the lives of their families.
We are sometimes graced with their
presence for only a moment, but they will
forever capture our hearts!
