Practicing my Photography Skillz!

This has to be one of my favorite pictures of
Addie! She was just laying on the floor,
watching some cartoon. I just said her name
and she looked at me!
LOVE it!
Such a great smile. I'm loving how fast this
camera takes the pictures!

This is a classic shot of Addie saying I've
had enough mom!

So I guess I'll just bribe her :)

I'm thinking it would be best to
send the "Mother of the Year" award
right to my home!

Enjoy your day!
Hoping to take some more pics soon!

I'm Taking the Next Step!!!

So I finally took the plunge and purchased this super nice camera!
It's very intimidating compared to my little point and shoot!

I also purchased the 17-55mm f2.8 Canon lense for my first lense!
So far I am really happy.

I took some photos of the girls yesterday, inside.
Usually I would've had to have the flash on, but not with this baby!
The pictures looked so natural and fab!
Still working on getting them uploaded so that I can do some editing!
As for right now I am trying to think of a name for my
photography biz!
Got any suggestions?
I have a few thoughts, but nothing is
jumping out at me yet!

First Trip to the Lake {of the year}

We are truly blessed to have Lake Michigan pratically in our backyard!
{Okay more like a 5 minute drive}

Alaina is finally getting to like the sand. Texture is something that takes awhile for her to overcome {sensory issues}

Addie could not leave that poor duck alone!

Wading in the freezing cold water... probably only 52˚ Crazy kids!

It always feels about 10˚ cooler at the lake then our house!

Making that perfect castle.

The climb up the dune to make it to the other side!
These things are not fun to climb!

What I've Been Up Too!

Lately, I have been crazy busy!
I recently went to Kentucky to visit family
{with no kids and no husband.
That's me and my cousin!}
,
had a successful garage sale
{I got rid of all the baby strollers and car seat.
I'm saving up for a Maclaren and
a radio flyer wagon}
had Alaina's end of school year party
{it was sad to say good-bye to everyone and
tears were shed
over the loss of Rita},
watched my youngest sister graduate
{that girl is goin' places!}
and now have been baking
and sewing for my best friend's
upcoming baby shower
{I told her not to peek, so I'm gonna show you some fun goodies}
This is a pin I'm going to make her wear,
to show that she is the guest of honor!
I got the idea from Julie over at
Joy's Hope.
This super cute dino taggie I made for the
little boy! I still have to stitch on his eye,
but isn't he super cute?
The oh so fun bunting I made... {in her colors
of course!} to hang up and decorate the garden! Yes I said the garden!
{I'm really hoping it doesn't rain Saturday morning!}
I made two... she gets to keep one,
and the other will be going in the shop!
It's a little different. The pennants are
smaller and there is 18 pennants on this
particular bunting!
This is the extremely cute library tote I made
for the winner of the fun game we will be playing!
I'm loving it so much, I'm almost tempted to
keep it!
Some super yummy Peanut Butter Cup Cupcakes
{with some super fun polka dotted liners,
from Etsy of course!}
Here is the fabulous Recipe:

INGREDIENTS FOR THE PEANUT BUTTER FILLING:
1 package (3 oz.) cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup peanut butter
2 TBSP sugar
1 egg yolk
1 TBSP milk

DIRECTIONS:
Beat cream cheese, peanut butter and sugar in small bowl
until smooth and creamy.
Add egg yolk and milk, blending until smooth.

INGREDIENTS FOR THE CUPCAKE:
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup sugar
1/3 cup Hershey's Cocoa
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup water
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1 TBSP white vinegar
1 tsp vanilla extract
PEANUT BUTTER FILLING

DIRECTIONS:
1. Prepare PEANUT BUTTER FILLING.
Heat oven to 350˚F. Place paper-liners in the muffin trays.

2. Stir together flour, sugar, cocoa, baking soda and salt in large bowl. Add water, oil, vinegar and vanilla; bat on medium speed of mixer 3 minutes. Evenly spread 3 tablespoons batter in each mold. Spoon 1 level tablespoon PEANUT BUTTER FILLING into center of each cupcake.

3. Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in cake portion comes out clean. Cool completely in pans on wire rack.

I'm also making a ton more baked goods and some other fun things for that baby boy that I can't wait to meet! I'm making some super fun cake slices for each guest, I'd be stupid not to :)
I will be bringing my camera to document the fun day!

˚˚˚˚˚˚˚˚˚˚
So that is all I've been up too! I can't wait until this weekend, when things can slow down a little until next weekend. My sister's open house and Father's day!

Air France Flight 447 - A Tribute

Rita was a sweet, sweet girl!
She along with her 7 year old son Andras
and her fiance were among the passengers of flight #447!

Rita was one of Alaina's most
dedicated teachers at the CLC.
She had a giving heart and cared deeply
for kids with disabilities!
I am still in shock, she will be missed
and was such a giving person!
My thoughts and prayers go out to
all the families of that flight!
