Just Call me Shera!

We are in the process of rearranging our house! Yep I said it our house! So today I got a little antsy and pushed our bed down the stairs. It was a lot heavier than I thought! Maybe I should have listened to the wise hubby that said, "can't you just be patient and let me help you when I get home" I said okay, but as the day went on, just couldn't wait any longer! So off to set up the bed and touch up paint on the walls :) I'll show you pics when it's more put together!

Can't Wait!!!

Christmas is approaching rather quickly and I've got a ton of work to do to get ready! This year I am trying to make all of my gifts! One of the gifts we are giving our girls is this fun doll house. No I did not make it, but I plan on decorating it! Won't this be fun!? This doll house was originally suppose to be for my youngest sister, but never got used! It was made by our great Uncle and so that makes him my girls great, great Uncle! So romantic. Hopefully they will keep it nice so that they can give it to their girls and so on and so on!
I will try my best to journey the decorating of a miniature house! I've never done this before and feel so overwhelmed! Does anyone have any ideas on furniture, etc?
Just an update on Alaina and her wanting to avoid Santa at all costs...She is warming up to the idea! While she still doesn't want to have anything to do with getting really close to him she will say, "Oh mom, I love Santa on the stage!" or in her very serious voice, "Mom, Santa knows when I'm awake!" Kind of creepy when you think about it!
Have a great day, tonight is date night with the hubby:) If you don't date your husband or husbands if you don't date your wives, you should! It has been a huge blessing to our marriage! Every Monday we go out {without the kiddos, that is important!} and have a nice dinner, {and when I say nice I mean without the kiddos, yes, quiet} then sometimes we enjoy the conversation so much we don't leave until our date is over, or we head off to Target or something and walk around. Whatever, as long as we are together,{with no kiddos! are you sensing a theme yet?}

A Storms a Brewin'...

Well this is what it looked like {toward the west} out my back window this afternoon. About 4 miles "that'away" is Lake Michigan and we are suppose to get dumped on tonight due to some lake effect snow. As you can see we already got some earlier this week! ...and this is what it looked like toward the east.
So the other afternoon I happened to be in the right place at the right time since we got 4 FREE tickets to see the Radio City Rockettes! We {meaning I} really wanted to take the girls to see a fun play or something this holiday, but felt like it was just a little too expensive for there age, so I didn't get anything and low and behold we were able to do it for free. Free for the tickets, but of course I had to get them new Christmas outfits and shoes and make them some hair bows to go with their dress! ;)
Here they are doing their famous leg kicks!

They did a scene recognizing the birth of Jesus...I thought it was neat. There were live animals, camels, sheep and a donkey!
All of the kids getting their picture taken with the Rockettes prior to the show. Alaina had just FLiPPED out about 3 minutes before this due to the Jolly Fat Guy. This child is Deathly afraid of him. Every morning she's been asking me if Santa came in the night yet, because she didn't want to see him!
Hmmm... She's also proclaimed that, "Santa, He's a nice guy, but he's freakin' me out dad!"
Oh and the infamous, "I hate Santa" Yikes, where is this hostility coming from?
What cute Toy Soldiers they make! We had fun, but it was a late night for all of us! I have a video, but blogger is being weird and won't let me post it? I guess just watch the Macy's Thanksgiving day parade :)

I'm Such a SLACKER !!!!

Howdy folks, well I've been back from Chicago now for oh...9 days! Sorry for the delay, if you were really looking forward to my fun weekend. One of my friends from high school got married and a bunch of us "girl friends" were invited. So I got to drive the 3 hours to Chicago with my very best girlfriend, NO interruptions! It was simply great. I drove and she navigated. It was harmonious, no fights, no sighing, or eyes rolling! If you are married then I'm sure you know what I am talking about! Best of all, not one wrong turn! Genius I tell you, genius! So I will go through the wedding as best as I can. I am not Greek so I only know a little bit. Dimitra {the Bride} tried to help us all in the culture department by writing down in her program all of the rituals and details of why they do certain things, just so we weren't totally clueless!
{Sorry in advance for the blurriness, the church was somewhat darkened}
Here is the front of the church. She was married in a Greek Orthodox Church and the detail around every corner was amazing! One thing that we did learn is that they do everything in three's. This is to represent the Father, Son and Holy Spirit! Very interesting.
Some of the stain glass windows...{this one's for you mom!}
The ceiling was dome shaped and this was just some of the painting! Crazy!
Here we are at the Chateau Ritz. It was beautiful to say the least! These chandeliers were all over the place. Some big, some small.
Here is the desert room. Yes I said room. There were about 8 tables set up just for the desserts! Any woman's dream :) Anyways, it is customary to bring a dessert to the wedding. I'm not just talking about brownies and cookies. Oh, no ladies this was a real culinary delight! Too bad we were so stuffed from the 5 course meal, including fillet Mignon! Thankfully they gave us to-go boxes :) Yep, when we had to leave they let us go through the dessert room again and then they pre-cut the wedding cake and wrap it all up so you can take that home too! I grabbed some for Jeremy since he stayed home with the kiddos. I know, I'm sweet :)
Here's a look at the beautiful centerpieces!
The Bride and Groom aren't they cute!?
So when the dancing began, it was with Greek music. I'm not one to just go out and dance especially when I don't know hardly anyone dancing. But one of my friends wanted to dance so she asked me and I agreed since I would probably never be at a Greek wedding again! So it goes, you hang onto hands. The Bride and the leader are holding onto a white napkin {this is how you can tell they are the leader} You dance around in a circle {there is a step going on, but I really could never get what they were doing with there feet, white girl still can't dance!} Anyways, to become the leader you have to throw a hand full of money at the bride! Super fun, there was money everywhere! It was way more entertaining then the dollar dance! Thank you Andrea for asking me to dance :)
Here we are Courtney, ME and Andrea! I had a lot of fun and was excited to see people I haven't seen in awhile!
Now stay tuned... we are taking the girls on a family date night! We hit the jackpot with some free tickets to a super fun event! We won't be home until late tonight so I'll have to post about it another time!

Quick Update on My Friend...

Here is there new blog site, Meg's Journey That's all for now.

I will be posting later today about my trip to Chicago!

Also, we are taking the girls on a special date tonight :) More on that later!

An Update about me soon, but for now...

Hi everyone, I have been really eager to post about my fun trip to Chicago, but have something to share that is even more important.

One of the dear couples in our Sunday school class is going through a most difficult time right now. They are in their late 20's and have two sweet children, ages almost 3 and 2 months. Just yesterday they found out that the wife/mom has cancer in her abdomen and it is spreading to her lungs! My heart breaks for this sweet family. The doctors right now are saying that this type of cancer does respond well to chemo. She started on chemo just a few hours ago. They will know by tomorrow if it is doing it's job. So please if you believe in the power of prayer, be praying for this family in this time of uncertainty!

I will give updates when I know more!

Check these out!

Just thought I should let you all know about me being featured on some fun sites recently :)

First of all, I was contacted by a sweet someone that loved my aprons. They are starting a new website called Taste Homemade. They are starting a virtual recipe book and they are hosting a bunch of lovely artists, all things related to the kitchen:)

Secondly, starting today and going until Monday there is a giveaway here if you like my paper cakes you should check it out. If you don't, you should keep checkin' it out every Friday until Christmas. This dear of a friend has some fun surprises in store for us!

I have felt way out of touch lately and have been really wanting to post. I have been frantically running around town trying to find a super snazzy outfit for this weekend. I am going to my friend's wedding. The hubby was invited, but the kids weren't :) So I am going with my very best friend, (you know the one that can finish your sentences and you laugh so hard you almost pee your pants!) and meeting up with some sweet high school friends too! The wedding is in Chicago and it is a Greek wedding. My friend was born in Greece and came to the U.S. when she was little. From what I hear Greek weddings are over the top and super fun! Have you seen "My Big Fat Greek Wedding"? :) Anyways, I will be sure to take a ton of pics to show everyone. If you think about it say a little prayer. I will be driving and it is suppose to be wet, snowy and nasty :) So basically I'll be white knucklin' it :)

Don't forget to check out those fun links and I'll update you when I get back ;)
