Strangers becoming FRiENDS...

First of all let me just say when I started blogging back in November. I never thought I would become addicted, have anything to talk about, at least not the kind people would actually want to read or become friends with some amazing people. Today I got a convo from a sweet gal about a mini-fundraiser they are doing for my daughter! To learn about her story click here!

Two new friends that I have met via Etsy/blogging are Little Bit Funky and Jane Says

These sweet gals will start listing the items for sale in their shop today at 4:00pm EST with all the proceeds going to my daughters fund! So make sure you go and check out all of their goodies for sale!
Thanks again girls!!!

Just to let you know...

We are back from our Vacation and I did not get eaten by a bear nor did I see one, thank you Jesus! I was fine all day, until I was in bed and it was dark and my mind would wonder, does anyone else do that? Let their mind wonder. Mine goes way too far past the normal wondering, I mean really, we probably didn't need to write out our wills just because I thought a bear was going to eat us for dinner. ;) Hopefully I will be able to post some pics of our stay up north soon, but I have a lot on my plate and I need to make dinner, get ready for a fundraiser meeting, clean house for my family that is coming into town tomorrow. I'm super excited. It's my cousin and she lives in Alaska right now with her hubby and three kids. They are passin' through the neighborhood, literally and are going to stay with us a night:)
So TTFN (my sister just taught me that acronym!)

Okay, I am going on a much needed vacation:) We are so excited. My best friends momma is letting us use her cabin up north for a minimal cost! Thanks Momma C :) The only problem is there was a bear citing last week...scary!!!
Jer told me last night what to do if we ran into a bear that was...ugh let's just say interested in us!
  • Don't look at the bear, and SLOWLY walk away...if that doesn't work
  • Puff yourself up and scream like a crazy person...if that doesn't work
  • I say run like H*** :), but he says
  • Get face down on the ground and cover your ears

So there you have it folks, lets hope that I don't have to any of the above:) It's probably my...I don't know what that kicked into overdrive when I heard about the bear. I was sure I needed to get our will in order, because we would be eaten by a bear! Ha, Ha, I'm not joking. Thankfully I'm married to a great guy with a wonderful awesome head on his shoulders!

So have a great weekend ya'll!

Does anyone else feel this way?

Kids clothes...They're cute, but annoying to wash and fold. I mean you can seriously fit just a ton of their wardrobe into one load, it takes me forever to fold! Just wondering:)

Recap from the weekend...

Such crazy girls...I love the 4th of July and this past weekend was just packed full of chaos! Friday we did the typical American routine, went to the beach, got a sunburn, went to our friends house for a party ate hot dogs, and way too much candy, went and saw the fireworks, and kept our kids up WAY to late! But we had fun. Here are some fun shots of the family having a blast at the BIG lake. I love Lake Michigan. This particular day the water was pretty calm, so no big waves to knock over the kids!
Even though it looks like I am torturing them in the sand, they really were having fun:)
This is the dune we have to climb up to get to our van on the other side. Let me just say it looks small, but if you have a heart condition, you better think twice before coming down it, cause that is the only way back up and she's a doozey!!!
Resting half way up the hill! Almost there!
Looking down on the beach. If only I could truly capture the difficulty of this dune, I am not making this up, even for a really in shape girl like me;) it is very hard!
On Saturday we got a phone call saying that Jeremy's grandma is not in good shape and we should come and see her. So we weren't planning on going anywhere, but we loaded up the kids and made the 2 hour drive to see her. She is 80 and was just diagnosed with cancer that is throughout her body. She is slipping from us fast and it was very sad to see such a strong and independent woman looking so fragile and weak. Even though it was difficult, I'm glad we made the trip down.

Also, I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions on what to do for children who bite? Let's just say this weekend the littlest one attacked. I'm not sure what happened. We put them to bed at my mom's house and when I went to check up on them I found a lot of crying. I feel so bad for Alaina. Someone asked me today what happened to her and I said a biting episode...she said from a dog? Nope, her sister. Oh the drama! I would love any suggestions.

The dollar bin is EViL

Okay, so I went in to get one specific thing and look what found me. Yes, it did find me:) I had to get them all, because they coordinated!! Plus, how could you pass them up, they're only $1?Look at what my honey brought home for me yesterday. Isn't he a sweetie? I think so!
Enjoy your 4th everyone. We have lots of fun stuff planned. The beach, party at our fun and fabulous friends house, and of course the fireworks!!! I love taking the girls to the fireworks.
Hopefully I'll have some fun family photos to post later this weekend! Until then...
FYI, there is a new poll over to the left hand side. Which color do you think I should choose to accent our newly painted bedroom? Oh the choices...

Vain or Not? That is the question...

Caylin Grace

Five years ago today I met my first born daughter. It was not at all like I dreamt it would be! God had different plans for us, plans that are difficult to face and plans that I would not have chose for my family. Caylin means Pure and we chose Grace, because we knew God would grant us all of the grace we would need to get through this time! This day forever changed my thought process. Never again would I be the same! Often times wondering if I would ever be happy again? or Would I ever have a family? or Will the pain ever disappear? There were days that I would be very mad at God for taking her away and then there would be days that I would be at peace with it all.
God is amazing and he would show himself to me in quirky ways. There are so many stories of how we touched peoples lives and how in return they touched our lives.
One day at church a month or so after her death a lady I had never met came up to me and asked me how I was doing. I said through tear filled eyes, okay, but some days are harder than others. She was very sweet and said that she knows a guy that works with her husband, his wife just had a baby and he passed away as well. She said she would give her a call and give her my phone number, so that we could have someone to talk with that could understood. I said okay, and not really thinking that she would do it and definitely thinking that this lady who has been through a loss would probably not call me.
One day while sitting at home I got a phone call, it was the lady that lost her son. We ended up talking for a long time. There was only a week difference in the time that we had lost our children. After all of our conversation I had asked where she lived assuming she lived in the neighboring town that we lived in. She told me that she lives North of town, and I said oh I live north of town...where about? She named the road and then I asked her to name it again. When she said it, I was dumb-founded, because that was the same street that I live on. We were both so overwhelmed that we had been talking for 2 hours and the whole time she only lived 3 doors down from me! That was totally God in every way!!! Thank you Jesus for giving me a friend when I was in need!
Today I remember you dear baby that I never heard cry or laugh or see your eyes, but one day I will hold you and see you for all of eternity! Until then I am waiting patiently for that day!
