Random...

Hi all, there is so much going through my head lately. I'll just post some randomness! Here is my best friend getting ready to start painting our bedroom! She'll probably kill me that I put her on this blog, sorry:) I chose the color, "coffee" it is so pretty and as soon as I'm done with the touch-ups I will take pics and show you just how pretty it turned out! An empty palate...I just love it!

I just had to show you this photo. Addie was being so funny, well when isn't she trying to ham things up? Yep, you guessed it another run in with the make-up. This is the worst encounter yet. The lipstick is ruined, but thankfully she only drew on herself and the bathroom floor. All of the powder however is my bran spankin' new finishing powder, that I only used one time and now virtually empty!!!
What's a girl to do?

Oh and Saturday when I woke up to Jeremy telling me he was getting in the shower, so I better go look after the girls, (it was 9:00am mind you, so thanks honey for letting me sleep in) anyways, I sort of didn't get up right when he asked me too, but when I did I found Addie had taken a green crayola marker and drew all over the kitchen floor, herself, Alaina, and our ottoman. Sorry I was too mad to take any pictures. Needless to say, she is grounded from any and all drawing utensils, for a week!

all in a days work!

Today I feel like I ran a marathon! I've never ran one, but if I did this is how I would probably feel. Today was a good day, but busy! I wanted to leave the house around 9:00am, but didn't walk out the door until 1:00pm.

That's a four hour difference people!

So this morning I was doing some Etsy things on the computer while the kiddo's were watching there morning "show" I heard Addie talking to Alaina all motherly like so I was listening a little more and here is the conversation,

Addie: Awaina I'm gonna go get sum canny(candy), okay!

Alaina: Ooookay(she sort of says this all drawn out)

Addie: Awaina, you stay wight dere why I go get sum! Don't move! okay

Alaina: oookay

Addie comes peeking around the corner to find some sweet tarts I had down here and I was pretending I wasn't paying attention. She says, while pointing her fingers at me

Addie: Mom, I'm gonna get sum canny for Awaina, okay!

Then she goes back up and they share their sweet treat:)

This is what I found when I got back from leaving the lunch table for not even a minute! Addie tried to poor her own milk. She did it and somehow managed to get a cheese ball in there!? Let's just say that there was 3 glasses of milk that spilled today, and I did one of them! ugh...

I got kicked in the face, I had to do a time out in the Hobby Lobby bathroom due to some LOUD screaming that was going on while shopping! All in all I managed to go to Starbucks with an amazing friend, go shopping for paper and ribbon at, you guessed it, Hobby Lobby, Lowe's to pick out some paint swatches for our bedroom:), the post office, and drop off some things at a friends house, PHEW!

Okay here is the challenge from Little Bit Funky show her your messy room! This is our messiest room in the house our basement. Well pretty much the whole house is a mess, but I had to choose one! Here is the kids playroom/family room! It's actually much cleaner than just a few days ago. Seriously the floor could not be seen! Not joking!!! Yes this is due to the flooding, but it wasn't much nicer looking prior either. Yes that is a giant Polar bear sitting on that dresser, don't ask!

This is my crafty nook, and right now it's a disaster! Believe me I have recycled so much paper this week, I'm very proud of myself! I had Christmas cards from 1998, I mean come on Trish, this is a bit extreme!

iNSPiRATiON

I have been inspired lately by so many wonderful crafty people! I have been wanting to make these square paper cakes for a long time, but couldn't convince my hubby to let me spend a wad to make a wad! I finally convinced him and am so happy to introduce to you my newest cake!

You can only find these cute square cakes at DAiSYS & dots believe me I searched high and low on the Etsy search engine!

This one is so sweet and I love how the chocolate and pale yellow look together!
Now this creation is all thanks to one of my great friends and my cousin! She has a shop on Etsy Maiat she is super sweet and I just wanted to publicly thank her for the idea! I'm not sure if I would have thought to do this on my own? Oh well now it's in my head and I love how it turned out! I haven't been able to play around with the design a lot, so I'm sure it will change around a bit. If anyone has any fun ideas let me know!

Well my day has been crazy!

I have been trying to post this all day! 

Crazy how your day can get away from you... 

I have so much to talk about! So bare with me...

Addie is my little stinker she loves to get into everything and for some reason my makeup is high on her priority list of things to get into...

you may think this is powder, ugh no...she got into my mascara AGAIN this time she opened the lengthening end of it and smeared it all over my couch...

I woke up this morning to sunshine. 

It has been unusually cold here and so I was enjoying the bright light. 

As I was opening the curtains to let those warm rays in. 

I stepped outside to see just how warm it was. 

As I looked around I noticed there was something floating in my kids pool.  

Hmmm, I wondered "what could that be?" 

As I got closer to the pool, an audible gasp came from my mouth. 

A bird face down, "swimming with the fishies" if you will. 

How could this have happened? West Nile, Bird Flu, a super clean window? 

However it happened I was not excited about it at all.The first thing I did was call Jeremy at work. "What do I do honey?"

I guess you should call the Health Department he says. So that is what I did. 

As soon as I got through the nice woman on the other end of the phone told me politely, 

"We are no longer gathering birds."

This is a weird conversation. 

She told me how to dispose of the bird. 

Yuck, I don't even want to go anywhere near that thing. 

So I left it there all day. 

When Jeremy found out that I hadn't taken care of it. 

He said, "you left it there all day? Well get your shoes on and let's go get it!" 

Oh man, what did he think, 

I can't even kill a spider in my house let alone go out and scoop up a dead bird, come on! 

So I asked Jeremy if he would empty the pool 

because I was NEVER going to put one of my children in that pool EVER again!!! 

He agreed and now the pool is at the end of our driveway waiting for the trash man tomorrow morning...along with the bird! ...a murder...

A doll's swimming pool...a.k.a. The TOLiET

Silence is the sound I heard in my house last night!

Ahhhh, is my first reaction. How nice no fighting children, no annoying cartoons on, and nobody is telling me what to do and when to do it!

This thought process only took about 4 seconds when it suddenly clicked...

me: Addie, where are you?

Addie: What mom?

me: What are you doing?

Addie: Swimmin' mom, swimmin'

I find Addie standing in the hall holding her little doll that is dripping wet... oh my goodness she's giving that poor thing a swirly! and yes there was water everywhere!

I made a cute little lunch for the girls today!

PB & J cut out into hearts.

They are obsessed with Cheese balls these days and who doesn't love a crisp grape?

Addie is like a little chipmunk...hiding grapes in her cheeks!Alaina with food everywhere...

...and my not so fun purchases at Target. I love that place, but I hate buying this kind of stuff! After this I'm off to clean my carpets, wish me luck! Alaina picked out the band-aids and I think you know what the other purchase is for...

Isn't she so cute? She was so sad that she wasn't able to go to the grocery store with Daddy and Alaina. She was actually crying!

She found something to keep her busy...she figured out how to climb up to the sink with no ladder or chair and was just hanging there!

Then she found Alaina's markers, she had fun while it lasted!

I took this pic of her playing with all of her little people! She loves to line them all up and talk to them! So stinkin' cute if you ask me!

Hello all,

I just wanted to give you an update. I haven't been posting lately due to some flooding in our basement. Hopefully things will get back to normal soon! Right now there is some major equipment in our basement trying to dry out our carpet and our walls! I've always had a fear of mold growing in our walls. I don't know why? Must be that whole germ-a-phob thing again! UGH! Thankfully there is no mold growing, hopefully we were able to dry it all out enough!

Just when I thought I didn't have anything to write about...

...little Miss Addie
decided to get into my mascara! Yep, that's right mascara, YUCK!!! This girl is obsessed with my make-up. I use mineral makeup from Joppa (you should check it out, it's awesome) so I use a brush to put on my foundation and one day awhile back I found her swirling toilet paper around in the toilet with my brush.
Anything bathroom related, she's all about it. Once, well more than once I have caught her waving the toilet brush wand around like it was a princess wand. I seriously think I threw up a little bit in my mouth!
I think it is her mission to get me over my germ-a-phob and a heart attack all in one! Why God is this little, beautiful child of mine obsessed with items found in the bathroom?
At least she tries to clean up after herself! One day she made a mess in the bathroom (I'll spare you the details) and she had pulled out every last Clorox wipe to clean up her mess, it was a full container by the way!
Oh dear Addie, you certainly know how to keep us on our toes!

The newest SLiCE...

These fine beaut's are the newest sensation to hit the shop! I love the color combo...Yummy chocolate brown with a Tiffany Blue ribbon! What girl doesn't love chocolate and what girl doesn't dream of getting that infamous "blue" box someday?

I've been kind of stuck in a rut lately with new ideas!

After your brownies have sat for 10 minutes or so cut them with a plastic knife, the brownies don't gob up and get all over your knife! It works like a dream! You get perfect cuts every time!

The SiGHTS, sounds, and smells of the Mall Play land!

Thank you to all who cheered me up! My oldest is in a funk which makes it hard to have a good day, but I'm doing a lot better than yesterday. It's raining outside and I love the rain, it's so calming and gives me a cuddly feeling!

The other day I took my youngest to the mall to play on there little play land! It's amazing what you will see while you are sitting there observing.

• Girls screaming at the top of their little lungs!
• Children making new friends that will last only a good half hour
• peek-a-boo
• Boys being dare devils
• A lot of chasing, in slow-mo (their little feet can only go so fast)
• children escaping from the play land, we should really do something about the border patrol :)
• Older kids, (that probably shouldn't be in there) doing "tricks" and wanting everyone to watch - I'm the coolest!
• Starbucks blender going off in the background
• along with the smell of a good mocha
• Teenagers walking by - wearing way too little of clothing
• Lots of little giggles and squeals
• "Look mom, look at me" said over and over and over...
• Catching bits and pieces of conversations as people stroll by
• Elevator music
• Scents from the Body Shop
• Runny noses
• Children panting saying, "I'm thirsty mom"

That is all that I can remember! It was fun and Addie has a blast. It's a place where I can take her and not have to tell her no every two seconds! Her socks got so dirty though, thank goodness for hand sanitizer :) My inner germ-a-phob is coming out!

Let's just say today has been one of those days! Don't worry I will get to the winner. First of all thank you to all who left a comment, I will be doing these giveaways every so often!

I've been reading a fun blog I just found recently, you should check her out! Her blog name is Graham Cracker Crumbs In one of her recent posts she was talking about being real and not putting on this "perfect" show to all who read your blog. I'm not sure who you all are, I'm getting to know some of you more and more(which I love BTW) so I thought I would be real with all of you today! Wear my heart on my sleeve as some may say!

Today started off great. I got all of my errands done, NO problem! Addie listened to me, she was even good in the grocery store and was able to ride the "penny" horse as we call it here in our house! (it's a horse you can ride and it only cost a penny, hence the name!) Then it seemed to kind of go down hill from there. I hate being negative and that is what I feel like I'm being, but I need to vent!

This afternoon a doll house came crashing down on the bridge of my nose, of course it's bruised and in turn has given me a massive headache! Then I was annoyed by the traffic, I mean who isn't? A 45 minute commute everyday can put one in a bit of a funk!!! Then I was excited to visit my friend that just had a baby. I was bringing her a meal and I went to get Alaina out of the car so she could see her new friend and found that she had completely peed through her pull-up. Agh, I hate potty training!!! So we went in disrupting their lives, her new daughter Eliana is beautiful and so are you Angela! Of course we left and Alaina was in full drama mode kicking and screaming because she wanted to stay and visit! Finally we get home and I am carrying all of our stuff in the house when my orange juice from this morning spilled and went all over the steps and partly in the house! I got that all cleaned up, got the kids in, PHEW, okay we should be good now, right. WRONG! I was rushing around to get a cake order done and doing some things on Etsy when Addie came down stairs to say, "Hi" and I was noticing a strange odor...now if you've read one of my previous posts you are probably thinking oh now she is smelling poop...try again. I didn't think much of it until I got up closer to give her a kiss and noticed the smell on her face, I went upstairs and the scent got stronger...I found the culprit, they had gotten into the RESOLVE Stain Remover Carpet Cleaner...OH MY GOSH, it was everywhere including on them. Alaina was in the process of spraying it, problem was she was spraying it towards herself. So I quickly cleaned off there hands and faces and had to make a call to the Poison Control Center...I've had to call them before, and I'm always in a panic, half for my kids life and the other half wondering if they're going to call protective services on me! Thankfully the very kind lady said they will be fine and I needed to give them a bath and something to eat and she would call me back in an hour! She did call back and they are as feisty as ever! They are in bed now and I'm exhausted and then I'm excited because I get to have a drawing, my first ever...oh my, I wonder who will win? Anyways, I am saying all of this because after the girls went to bed I was wondering why some of my days I feel like I would be better off in the Looney bin! My conclusion: I never included God, in all my turmoil and frustration...I was doing it on my own! I was not casting all of my cares upon Him (1 Peter 5:7)...I am guilty of that a lot it seems, trying to conquer the world. If only I could remember that He is there waiting for us to just ask Him to help carry the load and he will in a heartbeat! If you read all of that, thank you for "listening" I'm hoping tomorrow I will be better at asking for help!
