Young Living Essential Oils

Hi everyone,

I thought I would pop in and announce that I am now selling Young Living Essential Oils (YLEO).

I just have to share how amazing these oils are!

We made the switch to ditch the drugstore in January and we haven't looked back yet!

LOVE my oils!!!

Here is the kit that I started out with...

I use my oils everyday. We have used them to kick sickness to the curb all the way to helping upset tummies and headaches...

If you want more information you can email me and I will get you all the details!

I will be starting to talk more about the oils I use and how they have helped out our family!
Leave me a question in the comments if you have anything specific you want me to talk about!

Crochet

This is the start of my granny square blanket. I'm already in love :)

Pattern

This was the day my yarn finally came in the mail. Here is what I use. LOVE it.
I also am stitching this with an H hook.

Here is the first blanket I ever made. It was for my baby! It is so soft and washes up great.
For this blanket I used this yarn.

I can't wait to see this blanket get done! I have been wanting to do this for a long time. I will have to pace myself since my right hand/arm can get painfully sore fast.

You can follow along with my progress on IG... my username is daisysanddots :)

Whatever Craft Weekend (October 2013)

Oh my goodness... where do I even begin?!
Last weekend I had the privilege of being at the happiest place in Kansas!

I traveled solo which is always exhilarating and a teeny bit scary.
But I put on my big girl panties and pressed on.
O'Hare International is always the most intimidating for me!

Here are some photos to get a glimpse into the weekend!

I love a good airplane shot. I don't think I will ever tire of seeing the earth from the air!

Exploring the Craft House! What is not to love!
Every room is so dreamy!!!

The first night was filled with yummy food and sewing our ruffled aprons!
It twas a fun night!!!

Saturday started off with coffee on the porch! Plus a cinnamon roll I devoured before I could take a photo of it ;)
Then off to do some thrifting! It was a fun morning/afternoon!

Saturday night was filled with snacking from the snack table, margaritas, more crafting and more bonding with my new friends!

Sunday was a day of photos and saying our "good-byes"
I'm still in a Craft Weekend fog!

Sad that we missed our connecting flights in Chicago due to our Wichita flight being delayed. We sat in that airport for NINE hours! yikes.

And just like that our trip was over!
I had a blast and would go back in a heartbeat!

Insta-Friday Vacation Edition

I haven't done Insta-Friday in awhile.
So let's just cover our vacation in photos mkay?!
Here we are just starting out on our 12 hour drive to North Carolina!

Here is my crazy bunch of kids at our first night in the hotel.
Of course they wanted to drag the tired parents to the pool!

Another day on the road.
Now I'm starting to see mountains.
I will never tired of seeing rocks shoot straight up out of the earth!
NEVER!!!
This year we vacationed in Flat Rock, NC.
We went to a family camp called Joni & Friends.
If you have a family member with a disability
due to an accident for from birth
you MUST attend one
So refreshing!!

Addie enjoying some cotton candy :)

Addie made a friend

What's this? A walk sans kids!

Horseback riding for the kids :)

Here is Alaina with her buddy :)
All week long the kids get buddies to
hang out with and make them feel loved and special!
It rocks!

We made a family pit stop at the Creation Museum.
The kids had a lot of fun!

Colorful bugs :)

Some natural beauty in the gardens, it was so hot this day!

of course I had to throw in a photo of little Elise :)
in this photo she is 11 months old!

The Unexpected

Plans change...
Sometimes they change right before your very eyes
and there is absolutely nothing you can do about it!

Today was suppose to be the BIG day.
Surgery day.
The day where Alaina would have major hip surgery.
Instead we are sitting on the couch, in our jammies!

Last Friday I got a phone call from the hospital for pre-registration,
she said it should only take 10 minutes.
I was on the phone for 30 minute.
You know the phone call that you are giving the entire history of your child... all while the four human beings you call your own are basically eating each other alive!
Yeah, that phone call.
Needless to say, by the time I got off I was irritated.
As I was very "calmly" talking to my children about their behavior I got another phone call.
It was the doctors office asking me about Alaina's health.
I had mentioned to pre-registration that she has a cough and was tested for Pertussis the day before.
I was worried surgery was going to be post-poned at this point,
so in my very reassuring motherly voice I said, "she has had the cough for almost 3 weeks, so it will probably be done by surgery day!"
She was probably rolling her eyes at my stupid comment and then she put me on hold to talk to someone about, "our situation".
Two agonizing minutes went by and then the actual doctor came on the phone.
Uh-oh, this can't be good.
He basically said, "her airway is soooo agitated from all the coughing she has been doing that we should postpone surgery".
I was not okay with this. We have had this surgery on the calender for NINE months! I just want this to be behind us! I calmly asked him, "okay, are we talking about one week or one month?"
He gave a evil doctor laugh, (okay he didn't really, but I imagined it that way) and said, "oh well it could be up to six months".
I'm pretty sure my BP was borderline stroke!
In my best voice I said something like, "okay, just keep us posted".

So back to the cough that won't go away... she did test positive for pertussis. Say what?!?
Some call it whooping cough or the cough of 100 days...  either way you slice it, it sucks!
You know it's a bad day when the actual Health Department calls your house.
So we are on lock down... everyone in our family has to be on the antibiotic. School needs to be contacted and everyone at the birthday party we attended does as well.
**Insert feelings of being the worst mom ever here**

I tell you all this because in my flesh I was MAD! Why is this happening?
and then I remembered a sermon I heard at family camp in August.
What do you do when life hands you the unexpected?
She gave us the acronym NOW.
N= Find NEW ways to seek God daily
O= OPPORTUNITIES to serve others
W= WHY worry

I think as a mother our first instincts when plans unravel is to try and make things all better and worry about our kids. I will be the first to admit, I have worried more than I care to admit in the past 9+ years of being a mother. I have to work on NOT worrying daily! This verse comes to mind...

Matthew 6:25
“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?"

I am thankful for a God that loves me more than the birds of the air!
I am thankful for a God that loves me even though I try, in my own flesh to "fix" things before I turn to him.
I am thankful for a God that knows the future and that nothing surprises him!

P.S. Surgery is rescheduled for December 6th.
P.P.S. Sorry for the rambling, I am quite literally hacking up a lung over here!
